The following is a comment from Aoki, representative director of Alece Takaoka
========================
I am truly honored to have received the Kamenori Grand Prize in the Grassroots category.
As the name of the category suggests, we have been working at the grassroots level. Our grassroots activities are taking place in a region with a high foreign population and a conservative rural area, which could be described as a barren land for multicultural coexistence, and there have been many times when we have felt discouraged. Nevertheless, we have been able to receive such a wonderful award, which gives us great encouragement that our activities may one day transform this barren land into a fertile land.
We believe that the award is a great recognition of the achievements of young people with foreign roots in conducting a survey on the learning needs of prefectural residents and making recommendations to the prefectural governor as part of the 2023 "Creating Learning Options Project."
We would like to continue to promote activities that enable young people of foreign origin to realize their potential and pave the way for a bright future for the region.
